The King's Speech:  A study of the Sermon on the Mount

The Kingdom of Heaven stands in stark contrast to a world marred by sin.  Jesus turns our values upside down through the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-12, suggesting that qualities such as meekness and mourning, being peacemakers and being persecuted, not only distinguish the citizens of His Kingdom but also garner God's favor and fullness.

Jesus challenges us as He did His disciples -- whose kingdom will we be loyal to?  Will you allow Him to revamp your values, your priorities, and your way of thinking so that you can love and obey Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength?

Use the following questions to find a rhythm of daily time with God.  Talk things over with Him as you spend time in His Word -- ask Him questions, praise Him, thank Him, confess what you've done wrong, tell Him how you feel.  If you are part of a Growth Group, discuss the week's questions at your Group meeting.
