There are two choirs that children can participate in: first through third grade (Sonshine Choir) and fourth through sixth grade (Promiseland Choir).
- Sonshine Choir
First through third graders learn about music and singing while practicing for various performances. In addition, Sonshine Choir helps them learn to pray together, have small group time, and experience what it means to praise God through music. Sonshine Choir meets during the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service. For more information about the Sonshine Choir, please contact Vicki Gibson. - Promiseland Choir
Fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in the Promiseland Choir perform in a spring musical, and perform occasionally at the Sunday adult worship services. Children sing and learn about worshipping God through music. They also spend time praying, memorizing verses from the Bible, and learning more about Jesus. The Promiseland Choir meets during the 11 a.m. Sunday service. For more information about the Promiseland Choir, please contact its director, Cindy Crichlow.
Both choirs provide children with a unique opportunity to explore and develop their ability to worship God and serve others through music. Class time focuses on rehearsing music to be presented during occasional Sunday morning worship services and the Spring Children's Musical. Several community performances may be scheduled. Children learn to honor God as they prayerfully prepare for each practice and performance. These concepts, along with basic music theory, are integrated through a variety of fun games, activities, and music.
