Small Group Leadership

Open Close

Trinity group leaders play an important role; they serve on the front lines, shepherding and guiding the spiritual growth and well-being of their "flock." That means leading the way by following Christ passionately themselves!

We believe the Holy Spirit uses three main tools to shape us into people who look more like Jesus: the transforming Word of God, real transparency with a few other believers, and a willingness to hold each other accountable. We are currently revamping our leadership training to help group leaders, as they rely on the Spirit, to create these conditions - what we would describe as authentic Biblical community - within their groups.

Our new leader training, which we expect to roll out in fall 2010, will help leaders understand how to (1) guide group members through the "3Ds" of spiritual formation (becoming disciples who discover hope, develop faith, and deploy love for Christ)and (2) create authentic Biblical community - an absolute necessity for growth in Christ.

Watch for leadership training in September 2010. You don't need to be a "spiritual giant" to be a Trinity group leader, but you do need to be a growing, teachable Christ follower. We'll see you in September!

Community Leadership

Open Close

Community leaders at Trinity are leaders of leaders; because they lead "communities of small groups," they serve as shepherds to the small group leaders within the communities that meet at the church.

This means our community leaders must be servant leaders who understand how to disciple others. As community leaders pour into their team of small group leaders, they "deploy love" for Christ. They are making disciples (the small group leaders) who will make more disciples (the small group members). Eventually, some of those members will grow to be leaders and disciple-makers themselves.

The bar is high. Our community leaders lead by invitation. If you are interested in becoming a community leader, begin by serving as a small group leader. Prove yourself faithful in leading your group and soak up everything you can about being a leader for Christ. Live as a disciple who makes disciples for Him.

Community leaders are invited and encouraged to attend leadership training in September 2010. Hope to see you there!
