Growth Groups

You are ready to really follow Christ. You want to learn more about your unique role in the Body of Christ; you want to become like Jesus, from the inside out.
A Growth Group is a small gathering of real people – just like you – who are declaring themselves ready to develop their relationship with God. In Growth Groups, we learn how to become like Jesus on the inside and behave like Him on the outside. We work on living authentic lives with each other so that we can deploy, taking His life out into the places we live and move every day.
Groups are the heartbeat of Trinity Church. New to Trinity? Been around for a while, but ready to stretch your faith? No matter where you are in the journey, a Growth Group is your next step. Because the best way for you to take your faith journey to the next level is by doing what the first disciples did – following Jesus and sharing life with a group.

What is a Growth Group? An Adventure in Real Faith!

A Growth Group is a group of 6 to 12 people who commit to pursue Jesus together through life-transforming community. Growth Groups:

  • Focus on the weekend message, digging into the Word to figure out how to apply it to real life
  • Make every effort to live out the kind of real, honest community Jesus desires for His followers—praying, serving, laughing, sharing, and “doing life” together
  • Focus on undergoing transformationrather than gaining information
  • Meet in homes each week at a time the group agrees on
  • Are led by a trained leader and an apprentice leader
  • Can include people who don’t attend Trinity

What would we be learning? How to follow Jesus . . .

You’ll be learning to love Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love others as yourself; you’ll work together intentionally on becoming disciples who make more disciples.
Each year from September to November and from January to May, Growth Groups will focus on the sermon series taught on the weekends. The Groups will choose their own studies for the remaining weeks of the year.
For fall 2010, our Growth Groups will study Christian Atheist? A Study of 1 John. For winter/spring 2011, we’ll learn how to Get Dusty­ – following in Jesus’ footsteps so we can begin to live as He did.

Why Growth Groups?  Because Jesus led one. And that means a Growth Group is the best environment for transformation.

We believe God will use our Growth Groups to transform us to be more like Jesus—and to become disciples who make more disciples for Him! When you get connected into a Growth Group, you’ll connect in a deeper way with God, His Word, and your fellow Group members. And you’ll begin to have more impact for Him in your world.
If you think about it, Jesus formed the first Growth Group. He chose 12 committed followers and poured His life into them for over 3 years. And they followed His lead after He returned to heaven, creating groups of believers to carry His story on.
When groups of Christ followers meet to

  • discuss what their leaders are teaching
  • dig deep into God’s Word
  • enjoy healthy fellowship
  • break bread together
  • serve together, and
  • pray,

people who don’t yet know Jesus get intrigued. Many will choose to explore what it means to have a relationship with Christ when they see the Body of Christ living out His sacrificial love within a Group! (Acts 2:42-47)

How Do I Connect into a Group? Sign up here!

Join us for our next set of 3-week Introductory Growth Groups! You’ll meet for 3 weeks in the church to make sure the Group is the right “fit.” At the end of the introductory time, your group will continue in a member’s home!
We’ll host Introductory Growth Groups in the church on Wednesday evenings every September and January. Dinner and child care will be available for a minimal fee. You have a choice of ways to sign up for an Introductory Group:
