The children’s ministry is a safe and fun place for children of all ages to learn, to grow, and to be cared for by quality adults and student volunteers. From infancy through the elementary years, we are committed to Christ’s work in transforming children’s hearts, to equipping God’s leaders, and to supporting and equipping parents in their God-given role for these spiritually formative years. We value:
- Teaching Centered on Scripture: The Word of God is our foundation.
- Family-Partnership: God gave parents the mandate to raise their children in the Lord and we want to join Him in His work, edifying and strengthening individuals, their relationships in their families, and in their communities.
- Developmental & Age Appropriateness: We want to meet children where they are and help them grow and mature in their relationship with Christ based on their age and stage in life. We want lessons presented in ways that capture children where they are, as well as rooms and activities geared specifically to them.
- An Application-Focus: Messages and lessons that are presented need to answer the questions: So what? What does this story, concept, or characteristic mean to children? How does it affect their daily lives?
- Relational Ministry: Change happens best in anyone’s life through relationship. From the tiniest infant to the oldest student, quality volunteers care for our children. A key is smaller group interaction and opportunities to interact with God’s people. Our goal is that children experience and grow in community with each other, with others in our church family who model God’s love for them, and with Jesus—as they (eventually) build relationships with others in order to share the good news of Jesus.
- Creativity, cultural relevancy and FUN!: We want to speak the language of children at all stages of life, in order to communicate the message of Christ, so that children will make a connection with what they’ve learned and enter in and enjoy the process!
- Safety: We want programming and events to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually secure and healthy for children. In this world that is often threatening to children, it’s imperative that we create a safe and secure place for them.
