At various times throughout the week, you will have the opportunity to deeply study God's Word with a group of students you can relate to and with an amazing leader. Each week you will be challenged by the ways that the Scriptures apply to your life. You can almost consider these elective courses. There will also be a high emphasis on developing consistent spiritual-growth habits outside of group because it is these habits (and God's grace!) that will sustain your faith under trial long after the student ministry days of gatherings and role models are gone.
Rooted Groups are led by adult volunteers who have committed time and energy to teaching and challenging middle and high school students to a deeper Christ-like life by walking in community with each student. All of our leaders have been through a comprehensive application and interview process, including reference and background checks.
Rooted Groups are taking a break until the fall.
Note: Rooted groups are not for everyone! These are for students who are extremely interested in developing their faith. Develop students do not equal regular attenders. We do not measure where someone is at in their faith based on attendance, but a desire to grow spiritually and the onset of a desire to minister to others. You will not be mocked for not participating in Rooted groups, so please only sign up if you are committed. If in the dialogue with your student you both decide that he/she is not ready for this commitment, we would challenge your student to really commit themselves to attending our Wednesday night Impact or Sunday night Crosswalk regularly.
