2018 TRINITY MISSION EXPERIENCES
Thank you for your interest in Trinity Church’s short-term missions trips. Short-term trips are designed to advance relationships with our missionaries and Strategic Partners and to give you the opportunity to experience another culture and broaden your worldview.
Below are the steps to take if you are considering joining us on a missions trip.
Not every short-term trip is right for everyone. Review the various trips below and begin praying about which opportunity God is stirring your heart to pursue.
NEW TO GLOBAL MISSIONS?
We highly recommend the Tijuana, Mexico experience for your first time missions exposure.
Join HOPE Ministry’s leadership for an onsite visit. The degree of physical difficulty for this trip is moderate to high considering the necessary in-country travel by motorbike and then on foot to reach the village. 2-3 openings available. Dates to be determined.
Chiang Mai, Thailand
July 28 - August 5
3 to 4 individuals are needed to help or teach VBS during an annual conference for missionaries to approximately 25 missionary children ranging in ages 6 to 17 years old.
Metro Manila, Philippines
Partner with Trinity's long term missionaries and Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ to train national believers to start home fellowships using the culturally effective strategy of Oral Bible Story Telling. Pair up with locals to share the stories in urban poor communities. Date is flexible.
April or November
The is an opportunity for 1-2 people to accompany GO leadership on its first site visit to the remote jungle location in Northern Philippines where Trinity missionaries serve the Isnag people. Dates are flexible.
Svay Pak, Cambodia
October 22 - November 2
HOPE Ministry would like to assemble a team with the skills and interest to travel to Svay to lead children's programming at the community center and to build a home for a family. If interested in joining this team, please respond to [email protected] for further information.
NAIROBI AND MAKUENI, KENYA
Teach Middle and High School Students at Redeemed Gospel Church. Focus will be on encouraging students to continue their education and overcome personal life obstacles. A day will be spent with Compassion International sponsored children in both Nairobi and Makueni. Openings available for 2018.
July 15 - August 12
Catalyst School, RoseGarden Church Budapest and Trinity's GO are co-sponsoring a 4-week School of Transformation (intensive Spiritual Formation/Discipleship Experience) in Budapest this summer. This experience in Budapest is part of a Mentoring Program that Trinity's Global Outreach is launching this year for young adults who are in school/college, just entering the workplace or who have a gap year.
July 6-16 & 13-23
In partnership with young adults from Rosegarden Church, this team will facilitate an English camp. Young adults are encouraged to apply.
Hungary Missions Opportunities
The Hungary Baptist Aid and the Hungarian Bible Society is looking for individuals interested in serving 6 months to 1 year as teachers in Hungarian public schools and social institutions.
March 29 - April 7
Strategic partner, Discovery Church, is in need of skilled individuals who are contractors or have experience with building renovations to continue work on finishing the church's second floor. 3 -4 individuals needed.
July 30 - August 4
Family friendly. Fly to San Diego, then travel across the border to Tijuana, Mexico with Bittersweet Ministries to build a house, lead VBS for children, and distribute food to families in need.
Bittersweet Ministries is offering a Spanish Immersion Week in Tijuana, Mexico. There will be morning Spanish classes and afternoon activities that allow you the opportunity to put your Spanish skills into practice. Immerse yourself in Mexican culture for one week. Basic foundation in Spanish is a pre-requisite.
Urbana, St. Louis
Join college students from Trinity and from our Strategic Partnerships for Urbana 18. The theme this year is: Discern Your Place in God's Global Mission. For more info on the event please check out www.urbana.org.
Justice Conference, Chicago
The Justice Conference is a two-day conference to address issues of race, poverty, violence, refugees, systemic injustice, and shalom. Young adults are encouraged to apply. See www.thejusticeconference.com for more information.
Guatemala City, Guatemala
March 31 - April 7
Partner with Frontier Missions to visit orphanages and help with local projects. This is a family friendly trip!

Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed by the Global Outreach Team for completeness. Once finalized, it will be forwarded to the trip leader(s). They will arrange an interview to answer any questions about the trip as well as to substantiate each applicant’s appropriate fit and ability to contribute to the desired outcomes of the trip.
Begin the passport process if you don’t have one. If you do have one, ensure it will be valid for six months following your return. Visit www.travel.state.gov/passport for more information. If you do not have a current passport, you should apply for one immediately, as it can take up to 12 weeks to process.
Talk with your doctor or health care professional and team leader to determine if immunizations are required for your destination. Additional information can be found at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov/travel). Immunizations are available at the Ingham County Health Department (http://hd.ingham.org/home/immunizations.aspx) or the Michigan State University Travel Clinic (http://travelclinic.msu.edu).
Once selected to participate in a short-term trip, each trip member is responsible for the funds required to cover their trip costs and to attend team meetings and team trainings. These are designed to pull the team together prior to the trip as well as to prepare participants as much as possible for the cross-cultural differences they will experience.
